Some Useful Vehicular Links

Fancy checking up on your old Hyundai or your grandad's Triumph Mayflower?

I'm sure lots of you already know of this, but some might not...

Click DVLA Vehicle Licensing Online and select "Vehicle Enquiry"

This is the type of info that you can retrieve (my previous MGZR)

When I was at school they used to say I was always eavesdropping on them. I just wish they'd had the guts to tell me to my face.

Seen a dodgy car and wondered if it is insured?

Ask The Motor Insurers Database

Looks like my previous car is taxed & insured smile

Euro NCAP's aim is to provide motoring consumers - both drivers and the automotive industry - with a realistic and independent assessment of the safety performance of some of the most popular cars sold in Europe.

Re: Some Useful Vehicular Links

If you want to check which oil your car should use try this web site - Castrol UK/Ireland web site.

You put in your reg number or model and for i30 owners not sure about whether it has CPF it will tell you if you have a CPF or not.

(Might be a similar site for other countries).

Re: Some Useful Vehicular Links

Had a job done to my other halfs car today after some twit hit her car in the car park.
Called out Michael Dartnell of ChipsAway and he did a grand job for modest money. Michael can be contacted on 07879 683112 and whilst he only has the franchise for Surrey, Berks Hampshire border area others ply their trade under the same name.
Look at www.chipsaway.co.uk and leave your details and they will phone back giving you the local repairer and will contact him to call on you too.
Great service and an Excellent repair. (He also did a small job on mine and it looks like new again)

From Parkers:

You can calculate fuel cost, either by day, week, month or year, depending on model or MPG.

Re: Some Useful Vehicular Links

Check the MOT of your car (or the one you are thinking of buying)

http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/internet/html/home.html

Note the following, however...

This service enables you to

   1. Confirm that an MOT Certificate is a genuine record of that stored on the MOT Computerisation database

   2. Check the status of a vehicle that has undergone a recent MOT Test

   3. View the MOT Test history of a vehicle. (This only relates to MOT Tests conducted on a vehicle since the introduction of MOT Computerisation).

What you will need

Before you can access the information from the MOT Computerisation database you will need the following:

    * The vehicle registration mark from the number plate

      And EITHER
o The MOT test number from the VT20 MOT Test Certificate or VT30 Refusal of an MOT Certificate

            OR
o The document reference number from the V5C Registration Certificate issued by the DVLA

Re: Some Useful Vehicular Links

Came across this site today.

Worth a look at:
PePiPoo - Helping the motorist get justice

http://www.pepipoo.com/

To reveal to the ordinary UK motorist, clearly and concisely, how the government, police and judicial system deal with allegations of motoring offences in real life, and to provide the information motorists need to defend themselves.
