Tucson 1.6t N Line 177ps DCT Fiery Red.
« on: March 11, 2020, 18:18:46 »
Collected the new above vehicle 1st March 2020 and not really had a chance yet to test its capabilities.
I just wondered (had a quick search) if anybody on here has this model? Surely I can't be the only one!  8)

Hey
Now there is 2 of us!!
I have had mine since late September last year in shadow grey, apart from the poor fuel economy I love it so far.

Hi Bluetaurus
It's good to hear that there is at least another one as I was beginning to fear our taste was a bit suspect.  :)
We have been unable to test it yet but hopefully we will add a few miles in the coming weeks.
I just wondered what you call poor fuel economy as anything around 23/25 will be acceptable to us after its run-in.

Hi
I ways get complements on its looks, I think it looks smart too. For me it was easily the best looking SUV in that price range.
Love the way it drives, very smooth.
As for the fuel economy, I average between 20- 30 mpg depending on traffic to and from work, so I'm guessing that's roughly what your expecting?
I wouldn't change it for a more fuel efficient SUV to be honest. I can live with the mpg, just a little surprised  it's not a bit higher compared to some different makes.
On a motorway  run I was getting around 38mpg so probably down to the 20mph restrictions and heavy traffic.
What area are you from?

Hi
I totally agree about the look, and was somewhat amazed when the first dealership we approached was unaware there was a difference between the front end of the N line and Premier models.
I hopefully expect some complements but so far only from some neighbours.
As mentioned, the little time spent in it I've found to be quiet and smooth but that was to be expected as we had previously had a Premier model on a four day test drive.
Having done my homework on this model I was expecting the mpg as you describe, thanks.
We reside on the borders of Redbridge/Essex so regularly use the A12/A127, M25 and congestion charging London area.
I'm a little disappointed so far with the forum expecting it to be more vibrant, but hopefully my arrival will encourage the onlookers with Tucson N lines to post more.  :)
So for now it's just you and me with our cherished exclusive N lines.  ;)

Hi again
Agreed the dealerships are not always clued up on all their models! Mine said the twin exhausts were for show only and was unaware the rear seats reclined!
It is a job to find many user reviews on the uk N line , and was a little disappointed to find I was the only owner on this forum.
However I'm delighted with the car and hopefully will get a few years trouble free from it.
Maybe one day soon someone will dedicate a forum just to Tucson N lines. I think they are working on a 300 plus horse power version and the new shape comes out later this year I hear.
I hope you get to test yours properly soon, I need to take mine on a run as I tend to do many short journeys.

That 340 bhp version is still at least a year away and probably priced in the £45k+ market so I will not hold my breath.

Ahhh that is out of my price bracket then.
Though to be fair a 300 odd bhp  car would be wasted on me the way I drive

It would probably be wasted on me but not by the way I drive, solely by the congestion I drive in.

I expect the next car I buy will be a hybrid so the fuel  economy will be there for sure

I thought about that this time but didn't want to downsize. The equivalent model in other manufacturers hybrids, their bottom line with discounts arrived at £40k+. I decided nah :o

Yes they are expensive, but figured most new cars will be hybrid when it's time to renew.  I'll probably stick with hyundai though so will see if they produce a petrol hybrid suv.

Happy Tucson owner from 2016 and traded in last month to get the new NLine. Only had it a few weeks and having issues with stuttering and low power. Garage says particulate filter was clogged and cleaned it (regen) but still happening and this even after taking car for a good motorway run each weekend as I know my normal runs tend to be short ones. Not happy this can be happening after only 350 miles and not a good sign for this car suiting my needs if this is going to recur. Anyone else seeing similar issues?
