Hyundai key fob programming
« on: July 08, 2020, 14:51:23 »
It would appear that from 2007 hyundai/Kia have made the key fobs a programmable item with regards to central locking with no dodge or work around..if you let the battery in the key fob go flat and do not use it for some time the next time you do use it the central locking will not open the car..if you can get into the car it will start but the central locking will need reprogramming on the fob to reactivate it ..there seem to be no work around or dodge to over come this and by changing the fob body for another or fitting a blade can leave the fob without power and this will happen..this means that owners will have to visit a locksmith or dealer to have this done at quite a cost..have heard of one dealer charging £200 for this service and a locksmith half that price..so beware ..if you think the cell battery in the fob is loosing charge change them asap and quickly..do not delay it..

Thanks for the heads up Phil.
I'll be sure to change the spare fob battery regularly.

Yes thanks for that information but apparently low key fob battery should come up on the display giving ample time to change it.

Modern cars eh! My wife's last car actually spoke to us so somewhat disappointed this does not have that facility but they have it in America so should be here shortly.
