It's never going to happen over 60mph it's all locked up by then, I would think that for some reason the delay in the slip is not held long enough and it's happening in all gears. Perhaps a little play and try to drive below the lock point until the traffic or conditions allows you go above the lock point in each gear

Looks like it at the moment Shambles.  :)  I was considering leaving because I was starting to think that I was in the wrong place, and that this was only a forum for people with new or nearly new models. Nobody seemed to be showing the slightest interest in the older ones, or maybe the only members on here were not particularly mechanically minded.

I was looking for a forum where I could get help and advice, and maybe help others too once I got more familiar with the make. I have considerable mechanical and electrical experience, but I've never had a Hyundai before, so I'm not familiar with their "quirks".
