I have a 2007 Tucson diesel with vgt/dpf. It has 95000 miles on it. It is due an oil change shortly but the recommended oil is 5w30 acea c3 fully synthetic. IMHO i think the oil is too thin for a car with that mileage, would a 10w40 oil be better?

No - it's the right viscosity - remember modern engines are built with much closer tolerances than older engines - if you go too thick, the oil won't get into the "gaps" and wear will be substantially increased.
10w-40 is for cars of the '80-90s, not the '00-10s.

A Hyundai engineer got back to me. He stated definately 10w40 due to age and mileage. I will probably stick with 5w30 or 5w40 as ive used that grade in previous cars with good results. see how it goes.
