General Chat / Noisy door panel
« Last post by Toni Ford on October 01, 2024, 15:10:33 »
Hi all

I've had 2 Hyundais before, a Getz and then an i10. I have just bought a 2018, i20 and have the same problem as I had with the i10, which is a very irritating vibrating noise coming from the driver's door panel. If I push on the panel the noise stops but I can't drive along pushing the door! If I gave the i10 door panel a shove it would stop but that doesn't seem to work on the i20. The noise isn't always there but other times there is no way I can get it to stop. Has anyone else had this problem?

I also have a rumbling noise coming from the rear end of the car. I have booked it into my local garage for them to have a look at it later this month. I have a 3 month warranty with the car so thought it best to find out if there is a problem or if it is just a charateristic of this model?

Any help would be appreciated.

My son had my old Hyundai SE coupe(2000 reg) stolen from storage in Plymouth. It's royal blue, W413 ULB. If anyone sees it, or is offered it, call the police ASAP
Thanks all

Hi Cliff.

Your FD won't have a DPF and doesn't need adblue.

General Chat / Re: Hyundai service plans, are they worth it?

I've just taken out my second three year service plan whch also includes 3 MOT's.  In my opinion, it's well worth the money.  Means the cost of scheduled services are fixed for three years and therefore not subject to price increases.  Also the same for the MOT's.

Should items require attention that aren't included in a normal service, such as brake pads, brake discs, worn track rod ends, etc, YES there will be additional costs.  Filters and fluids will be covered in the service plan.  Also you get the benefit of the breakdown cover by having the car serviced under the Hyundai Essentials Service plan.  Home start, Roadside assistance, Recovery to a garage within 10 miles of the breakdown.

One potential drawback is paying up front to get the best price.  Can make a dent in your finances if you're not prepared for it.  Yes you can pay by monthly instalments but as with most instalment plans, there is an additional cost.

Hi 100% worth it you save money and it's also transferable should you sell the car.

I bought 6 services and 3 MOT's when i bought my Tuscon new, never had to pay for anything and just drop the car off and pick it up. You have to have them serviced at the correct times i.e. 10K or yearly and I did the first 10K in 8 months and then had second one done around 9 months later (if you work out home many mls roughly you will do help decide on how many to buy) you can cross check costs with dealer they will give you the prices.
All the costs are covered for the standard servicing things like battery key fob changes aren't and air con service plus the obvious like disk and pads wear and tear items .

Hi both mine are keyless entry and I have a faraday box that came with two pouches for the spare keys. I would certainly recommend having them for at home.
