Awaiting delivery of a 15-plate i40 later today,  most of my cars have been estates I prefer them. I must admit of late I've become very sceptic about all the fancy electronic add-ons that are fitted.

My last car (C5) had a security problem that no auto-elec guys could fix, it ended up having to be scrapped.  >:(  so fingers crossed for this i40.

General Chat / Re: MOT testing..

4 years has been a standard in many European countries but why not take it further, in Spain after the first test at 4 years unless the vehicle is a wreck then it’s given a two year ticket and does so until the vehicle is 10 years then it’s tested every year. Some exceptions are vans which are tested after two years from new then two years again until the vehicle is 10 years. Following the 10 years at the discretion of the tester if a vehicle is in a poor state they can demand testing every six months,  plus all vans and commercial vehicles are tested every six months.

General Chat / Spare Wheel, is it a problem?

Being very new to this car and all the new fancy stuff that comes with it, I was very surprised that there is no spare wheel, even the get you to a garage wheel. A friend who has a new Q7 Audi also told me the same thing on his car. It seems we both have this special stuff that is put in via a small compressor. Have any owners actually tried it after a puncture? Do any of you feel the need for a spare wheel?
Found one thing on the car that we do not like and that is the lane management thing, pain in the arse remembering to turn it off every time.

Having now had the car for a couple of days I have to say I am impressed, it’s big, comfortable, quiet, for a car that cost in Pounds 24k I am very pleased with it. We particularly like the sunroof, that is very impressive plus the tinted windows against the sun, can’t fault it so far.

Good morning, well today I will take delivery of a new Tucson 1.6 T-GDi 2wd 150bhp MT6 Smart Sky in Slinky Bronze.
Never had a Hyundai before and in fact until I pick it up it will be the first time I have driven one so looking forward to that.
Any quirks that I should look out for? Not sure if there are any great differences in the models between countries but I am sure someone will let me know.
Never had a car like this so a big learning curve for me and her indoors.
I look forward to reading the news and reviews on the forum.
From a warm and sunny Lanzarote. Cheers
