Hyundai is the same as any manufacturer, their engines conform to the regulations as they are written, and with the EU and their "don't upset the main contributors of cash", the EU manufacturers contribute a great deal of Euros, they are written with that in mind . "Which" with their usual "lets hit the motor industry have included models in production before the 2011 levels to make it look good. OK they are not brilliant but rules is rules and you bend them to suit your profit margins legally.
If you want to be super green, read the test specifications, the loop holes and buy what you can afford, if it has an ICE you can't be super green
