Title: Looking for another Hyundai !!!
Post by: I30Sean on February 20, 2016, 19:01:42
We will soon be a three car Hyundai family !!!

My daughter has started driving and am looking for a Hyundai for her, my search started with the i10 as she is only 17 and insurance is crazy (when I was young I had a few sporty cars and it was high but not like now) Anyway it seams that the standard price is £2000 for whatever Hyundai I choose, any model i10 is around the £2K and I put in an i20 for a comparison and bizarrely it was the same price, so then I put my wife's i30 estate in and it was again the same price.
So have decided on an i20 for her and the search begins  :)

I'm planning to pass my i20 1.1 Crdi Blue to my son when he's 17 (7 years from now, if she survives..!) ...comparatively low power, real 64+ MPG,  free road tax make me think it'll be a better first car than a thirstier petrol model with unnecessarily more BHP for a new driver. Lots of airbags in an i20 too.

The i20 1.1Crdi are like gold dust only 7 on autotrader and they hold their price well.

Mostly the insurance premium is based on the person not the vehicle.

Yeah, they were really unpopular, not many about! I guess those who love em are also holding onto them. Probably less than 400 of the "Blue" 1.1 model I have were sold over the 3 years it was in production.  Dunno how many non-Blues were sold at all.

I'm considering parting with my i20. My first car I paid for myself and it was an old banger, 2.0L so plenty of BHP for the time (1991). Seems that teenagers these days expect something new(er) and more expensive and on a plate
