Good morning, well today I will take delivery of a new Tucson 1.6 T-GDi 2wd 150bhp MT6 Smart Sky in Slinky Bronze.
Never had a Hyundai before and in fact until I pick it up it will be the first time I have driven one so looking forward to that.
Any quirks that I should look out for? Not sure if there are any great differences in the models between countries but I am sure someone will let me know.
Never had a car like this so a big learning curve for me and her indoors.
I look forward to reading the news and reviews on the forum.
From a warm and sunny Lanzarote. Cheers

General Chat / Ioniq 6 - views?
« Last post by fennie56 on December 05, 2022, 11:12:44 »
Hi - new user. Wondered what the HOGB view is of the Ioniq 6 and the process to register for the First Edition.
I think its a stunning car and I've been determined to get one since I saw the prototype. I followed the release dates - chatted with the local dealer who had no idea how the process would work.
On the 9th at 09.00 I watched the launch video and (eventually) found the "Register" form. Completed it and had confirmation by 9.30am.
But then nothing ....... dealer none the wiser.... eventually had confirmation last Thursday that I had been allocated one of the First Editions, due for delivery "Q1/23".

The police issued a crime number that morning, closed the case 10pm that evening and much to my astonishment/dismay they said the case would be kept on record. My insurance company were quiet unconcerned and just wanted to know if I had both keys, which I did.  Because these thieves are so far ahead of the car makers they have multiple ways of stealing your car. Since talking with the public and perusing the web I have discovered how rife it is.
The car was discovered three weeks later abandoned in South Derbyshire having been involved in numerous crime and a police chase when they got away.
The vehicle was eventually declared uneconomical for repair and a settlement accepted.

WOW that's terrible sorry to hear this. We have Faraday box and pouches for the spare keys. I know this sounds crazy but I actually checked my box worked I put my keys in it for both our keyless entry Hyundai's and went and stood next to them and pressed the buttons on the doors and they wouldn't open.
Did the police or insurance offer any suggestions of how they did this, i have heard of keys being cloned but this is high tech stuff???
Regards Sean
