Child Door Locks
« on: November 23, 2025, 15:05:59 »
Hyundai i10 2017 se model
The rear doors cannot be opened from inside, irrepective of whether I have the door lock switch mechanism on the door panel turned to 1 (on) 2 (off)

The doors can still be opened from the outside, or as soon as the driver/passenger door is opened, or the driver opens using the button on the drivers door handle, or by clicking the drivers window latch to open..

I want to be able to allow my adult passengers to exit the rear unhindered. Rear windows ccan be ysed by rear occupants, even when door lock prevents exit.

My first thought is the child lock system is faulty and the little thingy you move is not working as it should.

But checking my rears I can not open the doors unless I press the unlock button on my dash or until front doors opened or key removed.

Check your owners manual to see if it gives an insight as to how the rear doors operate.
I'm no expert, so please correct me if I'm wrong
