New car discounts
« on: August 11, 2017, 22:26:21 »
Anyone know what sort of discounts I might expect - or ask for on a new i10 Premium SE Auto ( list ONR price £14,585 with its extras)?  This will be on a straight deal, no financing and with a P/E valued around £6700.

I looked on CarWow and it seems that a main dealer could offer something about 8%/10%
 Any ideas?

Only certain groups qualify for Affinity.

Carwow are good, but you need to check the dealers yourself, I picked a bad one!

Plenty of other online discount brokers - beware of those who want money - with a good broker, they get their money from the dealer so the customer only has to deal with the dealer.

Many of the brokers can only access retail dealers, those with access to fleet dealers can give better deals - but that varies by brand.

Whether it's Affinity or a broker, don't expect more than bottom book for the part-exchange - check out WeBuyAnyCar as they can be better in those conditions - BUT - if you p/x is less than perfect, they will mark it down on examination - but not unreasonably so.

What Car? reckon that on an OTR price of £13,110 you should look for a target of £12,187 - or go to a dealer who will discount like this. Is this fanciful stuff - or a reasonable expectation?
