Gents! So pleased with my i30, found out a little about her this weekend, had a decent drive at last, went to see my friend in devon and filled her up before i left...£51- then set off, i managed 422 miles to that tank... i am blown away, used cruise and kept to speed limits as much as possible, did stray a little to 80 odd for a few miles, but truly was amazed at how well she did the drive, never missed a beat and really did the business, found out that she has the fog lights light up on tight bends, also that i dont like the tyres as they are noisy...
but overall, outstanding performance... so pleased!
She needs a wash now amd a clean up, went fishing and came away with a huge tope and cod... yummy! So worth it i guess..
love my car!

My saab clocked 65mpg recently using cruise control. What did you'd 422 miles equate to in mpg?

That worked out at 45.91 per gallon, im impressed, my previous car was a 4 litre v6 explorer...that was £120 per tank and i got less than 300!
Trip computer is hopeless it stated 36.9 mpg.

Hi.
I take it your i30 is petrol not diesel.
If so that's good mileage.might look into petrol next.

Yes mate its a 1.6 auto se nav, i call that pretty good mileage and am happy with her, wish the computer was more accurate tho for the mpg calculation, seems too far off, showing 36 something....wonder if there is a calibration process to make it better?

Yea. A calibration would be good.
My i40 says 50.2 but is only doing 45 when I calculate it manually.
I'm doing 75 miles a day commute so it should be better on a diesel.
There's an app that a few guys at work are using but it means you have to keep an OBD2 reader plugged in all the time . They say it's really accurate.
Torque pro I think it's called.

Good to hear that Bighvm. Still checking my i10 but too new to get decent results. Glad you enjoyed your fishing! I used to live on the coast and fished all the time. Now I have nice boat rods and Penn reels lying abandoned! Life goes on....... :)

You're right. Computer read outs are hopeless...(I hope!). My new i10 auto is reading out at 27mpg....haven't checked but it has to be better than that! Surely? Tell me somebody..please.

Yes please, there must be a way to calibrate these things... i dont want to take battery offline incase of problems with ecu...
but these cant be this bad for accuracy.... why out these in if ots just so wildly off.
Please if you know how to calibrate, let me know?
