General Chat / Hyundai Immobiliser Unit
« Last post by Administrator on January 14, 2021, 22:36:44 »
I rang the local Hyundai Dealer the other day to find how much an immobiliser unit would be for a 08 year i30 which also fits quite a few different models and a lot of Kia models.
95420-2L700 the part number which was superseded with the number 95420 0X200 and then I asked for the price - just short of £400. I did question it but they said that was the price. So I thought I would look elsewhere and found one of these in the UAE - £55.61. Ordered Saturday night and delivered today. I shall be contacting the UAE company again soon for more bits...

This could be very useful. Maybe it might fit better in your Admin's Garage (tutorial) section?

General Chat / i30 1.6 DIESEL U ENGINE NON START TUTORIAL

In this HOC Tutorial I will be taking you through fixing a non start i30 2009 diesel.
It arrived with me as a non start with a secondhand engine fitted.
First thing to do is to replace the battery as it good as dead.  Modern diesel need a good battery to turn them over at the correct speed for the engine to fire up..More to follow

It's a Trajet.
79k . Mot till April. FSH with the
Cambelt being replaced within the last 16000miles.
2.0litr manual. I had it removed from where I had purchased it on the back of a recovery truck due to Covid restrictions coming in. Which was a good thing because it has a slight leak from the rad and very slight knock from the steering. I found nothing else wrong with it mechanically wise. Bodywork has a few scratches and dents plus a rear wheel arch a bit crusty but nothing major.
As good bonus is the fact that when it had its trailing arm recall they replaced them.
Now as the engine is a Mitsi copy and the ECU is a Mitsi style
one an EVO engine and  may have to be found. Then the obvious suspension changes!!
